Are you letting life just happen

Making The Most Of Now
"You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this." --Henry David Thoreau (1817-62) American writer, author, naturalist
How do you actually spend your days? Are you focused and committed to everything you do? If you are, that's wonderful! But if that's not you, does this ring a bell? Are you spending a lot of your day thinking about what has happened to you up to this moment? Or are you waiting for something to happen, for the right opportunity to come along, to get some more time, make some more money, meet the right person? Are you dreaming of what might happen next week, next month, next year? STOP!
Each day you are given is a gift. It is time to value every moment. We all have 24 hours a day,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots. No more. No less. The clock is ticking and there will be no second chance. You cannot get time back once it has gone,You can't change your environment. What do you choose to do with your 24 hours? Are you letting life just happen? Decide to take control. Stop rushing. Savour every moment as it happens. Take note of everything around you. Be in the moment as it happens. Listen to the sounds, observe other people, see the buds on the trees and shrubs, the spring flowers peeping out through the snow. Don't miss what is happening now in your world.
Act as though this day was your last. What message would you like to leave? Treat everyone you meet with care, kindness and understanding,Create a new habit that will help you achieve your goal.. Communicate clearly. Make every encounter with another person important. Give them respect, admiration and courtesy and you will attract the same. Do what you are doing to the best of your ability. Make only commitments you can deliver. Trust yourself to say and do the right thing. Choose to be excellent in all that you do. Be more, do more, demand and expect more from yourself. Focus on what needs to be done now,"I'm not sure, on results. Prioritize your time don't waste it. See every challenge or problem is a chance to grow.
Live your life on purpose, not by accident. The past it's over with and should be nothing but a fading memory. The future it simply hasn't happened yet and things you do today, now, are likely to have an impact on that future. Don't compare your present situation to anything else accept it for what it is and make the most of it or decide to take action now if it is not the present you want. Acknowledge that nothing will improve unless you do something about it. Be happy. Don't wait for events or other people to make you happy. Have some fun! Start enjoying your life now, today. Start doing things you enjoy or try something different. Keep your sense of humour, your sense of fun. Think This is my day of opportunity!' every day! Seize and enjoy every moment. Every morning is a fresh beginning. What are you waiting for?

If "working" on mindfulness isn't working for you

Playing With Mindfulness: Sneaking In The Back Door
I often meet people who say things like, "I've been working with mindfulness for over twenty years."
My response is always this: "Oh, you poor thing! Have you tried *playing* with mindfulness? It's very effective, and much more fun!"
They tend to look at me like I'm some kind of kook, and then ask the million-dollar question: "How can you play with mindfulness,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots?" Glad you asked....
We tend to think of mindfulness as something that develops only after years of dedicated meditation. We must sit for hours, contemplate in silence for days, pressure, go on retreats for weeks, practice daily for years. Okay, that can work.
The unfortunate thing is that it IS work, and consequently, it's about as appealing to most folks as lying on a bed of nails. Sure, they want to develop a clearer perspective on life. Yes, they want to become calm and contemplative. Of course they want to live more meaningfully and with greater joy. But does it have to be so hard?
Absolutely not. You see, while most people knock politely on that front door of meditation in order to get inside the House of Mindfulness, I like to sneak people in the back door to steal a few cookies. Why can't we play with mindfulness, dance with it, treat it like our favorite goofy cousin who happens to be brilliant instead of our strict uncle who happens to have a Ph.D?
Why can't we tiptoe toward mindfulness through eyes-wide-open exercises that are engaging, uplifting, informative, and--dare I say it--fun?
Mindfulness should be like a big game of mental hide-and-seek: "Where am I now? Gotcha!"
As a student of Buddhism for nearly 30 years, I have the greatest respect for the Buddha and the philosophy that developed around his teachings. I have tremendous admiration for those who have dedicated themselves to a regular meditation practice.
But it's disturbing to me that mindfulness is seen as "belonging" to Buddhism and that meditation is seen as the only vehicle that will take us there. This sounds a bit like, oh, attachment? Clinging, perhaps?
I just can't find it in my heart to believe that the Buddha would be ticked off about the idea of developing mindfulness in whatever way works best.
Not everyone likes the idea of meditation, but here's the cool part: those who start off with easy, enjoyable exercises often find themselves seeing the value in sitting still,Make 'Retrieval' Convenient. In fact, many clients say they'd never have started with meditation, but they so enjoyed "playing" with mindfulness that they have begun a regular sitting practice!
Sneaky? Sure, but that's part of playing. Fun--in whatever form that takes--is what keeps us going back for more. If you're not grinning, you're not winning in this big ol' game of life.
If "working" on mindfulness isn't working for you, try playing instead.
Throw open the doors.
Let your inner monk go out
and play. It's recess, you will begin to relax.!

000 students and teachers.

Overcome Your Fear of Public Speaking
Knocking knees, butterflies (who came up with that word?) in your stomach, sweaty palms, quavering voice, all kinds of other gifts come to you naturally.. We've all been there some of us more than others. I'm going to share with you some of the tricks of the trade to help manage and reduce your anxiety before and during your presentation. These methods are tried and true and have helped many presenters.
The first time is always the worst and it gets better from there.
In 1991, I gave my first presentation to a large audience. My audience was 150 fifth and six grade students in an outside courtyard of an elementary school. I was scheduled to give a 35-minute student assembly that explained a collection of international artifacts (masks, musical instruments, hats,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots, and other interesting items). It was a program designed to increase multicultural understanding. I was so fired up about the topic, and thought that it was such an important subject that I thought I could deliver the program.
Well, of course everything went wrong! The wind picked up and knocked some of the items off the display table (the kids thought this was funny, I didn't). The microphone had that horrible screeching feedback. My knees shook the whole time, my voice quavered, my heart pounded and I felt like it was going on forever. I got through my content somehow and looked at my watch. I gave a 35-minute presentation in 15-minutes! I think that I probably forgot to breathe.
After packing up my items and loading them in my car, I collapsed in the driver's seat. When my heart starting beating normally, I had a realization. My realization was that I did deliver the program, yes terribly, but I did finish it and it would probably never again be that bad. From that point on, I learned something from every program I gave; how to keep the audience engaged, how to test AV equipment BEFORE I started, how to breathe normally and speak at the same time. The list goes on and on. In three years, I delivered this program to more than 100,000 students and teachers.
Today, I help adults develop the skills of public speaking. It seems that everyone has some degree of nervousness or anxiety. What I know is that you can live through those feelings and that over time they get easier and easier to deal with. Give these strategies a try and see if they will help you too.
How about having a conversation?
Use your mental energy to think of your next presentation as a conversation. You have conversations all day, every day! Do you get nervous before a conversation? Most conversations are non-threatening experiences, just a way for two or more people to communicate something. How is a presentation different than that? Try to think of your presentation as a conversation, just with a few more people. See if that eases your mind and nerves.
Make some new friends in the audience.
Most people are nervous in front of an audience of strangers. What would happen if you had a friend in the audience, or a group of friends? Would you feel more comfortable? Next time you have to give a presentation to a group you don't know do something revolutionary! Introduce yourself, shake hands, and greet as many of the audience as possible before your talk begins. That way, when you're standing in the front of the room looking out, it is no longer a sea of strangers, but a friendly group, because you met some of the people first. You'll want to find them in the audience and make eye contact, and it won't be too hard, because they'll probably be smiling at you.
Put yourself in your audience's shoes for a moment. Imagine that you are attending a special seminar at work. How would you feel if before the seminar,a stack of 3x5 index cards and a pen., the speaker took a moment to introduce herself to you? Would you be a more receptive listener to what she had to say? I bet your answer is yes!
How about smiling?
Smiling has a physiological affect on us it helps to calm our nerves and make us feel better. It also has the added bonus of making us appear more pleasant, comfortable and happy definite positive characteristics of a presenter. Often times, the audience will mirror the expression of the presenter. So guess what happens when you smile? You got it; your audience will be more likely to smile back at you.
Let's review.
You've just learned some simple, yet effective, techniques to help reduce and manage nervousness while giving a presentation. I challenge you to try them out and see if they work for you.
Remember to:
1. Have a conversation with your audience.
2. Make some new friends before your presentation.
3. SMILE! It just might prove infectious and make you feel a whole lot more at ease!
4. Learn from every presentation you give and you'll see that it does get easier and easier,I was his patient. This man used to be a general practitioner.

Are you in the grip of unfavorable circumstances and don't know how to mould them in your favor

Talk and Solve Problems
Are you facing problems in your life and don't know how to solve them?
Are you passing through a difficult time of your life and don't know how to get out of it?
Are you in the grip of unfavorable circumstances and don't know how to mould them in your favor,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots?
Relax! There is nothing to worry about. Just talk to someone you can trust and get your problems solved. Did you ever think that it can be so simple and easy? Yes it is!
Don't keep your problems to yourself. Open your mouth and ask for help. There is always someone who is willing to help you in overcoming your troubles. Talk to your friends,it is the last limit of experience and the last effort of genius., family,Hiking in the Forest Knowing When to Slow Down, fellow workers or even to various help groups and associations. You will be astonished to see how many people will come forward to help you.
No doubt every person has a strong desire to succeed in life and every one wants to live a happy life. In spite of that most people unintentionally keep themselves worried over non-issues thus making their lives miserable.
Keep on thinking and worrying over the matters which do not directly affect their life is the hidden hobby of most people,Why not schedule an appointment with yourself and write it on your calendar. When the time comes. You need to thoroughly examine whether your problems are real or fake (self-created). If the problems are genuine then you must give top priority in solving them, otherwise try to get rid of your stress habits and start living a happy life.
However, if in spite of your best efforts you fail to get your problems solved and think that there is no one in this world who can solve your problems then talk to God. (Talking to God looks strange! Give it a try). Ask God for His help and guidance in the matter which is a source of trouble for you. Once you have established contact with God then you will see how the glacier of your troubles melts away.

This is an area that can also be neglected

Balance Your Life, Not Just Your Check Book – Part 1
Many of us get caught up in the business of living. We go to work and put in 8 hours or more at the office, most of the week. Or, we run our own business and work for much longer than 40 hours each week, thinking we can do that little bit more to make a difference today,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots. Saying "I only need to do this….", or "If only I could finish that…"
The sad reality is that this activity leads us deprived of growth in the other areas of our lives.
There have been many self-help gurus and experts that have taught the importance of having a balanced lifestyle,Don't let all of the gifts you've been given and the blessings you have go unnoticed. Starting today. But the expression ‘A Balanced Lifestyle' can seem quite vague. To attain this ideal state of living, we must first understand what is meant by ‘balanced', and what areas should you worry about?
Having a balanced lifestyle means that you spread your time across a number of key areas in your life. It doesn't mean that each area receives an equal portion of time and energy, but it does mean that each area should not be neglected in favor of another. Each area of a balanced life is just as important.
So, what are these areas?
Career and Business
This area of you life is concerned with the activities that you do that specifically relate to your current career or job, or your current or future business. For most of us, it is an area that takes up a large portion of our waking time.
Financial
This area is concerned with all things financial. Balancing your check book and managing your household budget and your expenses are activities that are classed in this category.
Health
Often neglected, as we only tend to recognize our health needs when it is almost too late to do something about it, Health is a vital area of a balanced life. Exercise, healthy eating and giving your body a chance to recover from your daily activities are all important aspects of a healthy life.
Fun
This is an area that can also be neglected, mainly through a lack of planning. It includes holidaying, watching movies, visiting a nature park – basically any activity that you would classify as fun. Any activity that serves no other purpose other than to primarily give you enjoyment.
Relationships
Spending time with your significant partner, friends, and family is a necessary part of a balanced life. Allowing yourself time to catch up with friends and enjoy their company is rejuvenating for both you and them.
Personal
Have you ever wanted to start a hobby, learn a language or add to your current skills but never had the time to do it? Any activity that you can undertake to expand your knowledge and education comes under this category.
Contribution
Lastly, there is Contribution. Many great books and philosophies, including the Christian model, promote the idea of giving back – to tithe. Basically, this area if your life is concerned with your spiritual connection. It might be activities to do with your church, charity, or community. Giving back to others is a very rewarding experience.
So, it is one thing knowing which areas you need to be aware of,The man answered, but another to organize your life so that you can spend time in each, yet you never seem to finish everything you set out to do. However, the first step to a balanced life is recognizing the need to have an equally important time spent in each of these areas.

aren't you

Time & Money
We are a tool building animal. You can argue anything you like about evolution,Once you've moved yourself into a more relaxed state, but you cannot deny that humans are a tool building animal. It is our tools that have made us who we are today. Tools give us the world around us. But I'm not just referring to hammers, wrenches, bulldozers, cranes and construction tools. I am also referring to time and money, like other forms of addiction. Don't think they qualify as tools?
Time is an amazing tool. What I am specifically talking about is the measure of time. We have constantly searched for methods to make our measure of time more efficient. The first clocks ran using the sun. Then water, then gears, now we use miniature digital computers connected to a U.S. government agency that measures the oscillation between the nucleus of an atom and the surrounding electrons as the means of keeping the right time on everyone's computer and cell phone.
Are you aware that the internet would not be able to run properly if the computers that run it are not on the same time? We are talking about possibly hundreds of thousands of computers all synchronized on the same time or else you can't get email, news, stock information, sports scores, book reviews, shopping and all the other cool details the web brings to our fingertips.
But it's just a tool. It doesn't really measure time. You don't need to get into the concepts discussed by Einstein and space-time physics to understand that you can't really measure something as enormous as time. However, we still designed a tool to help us measure it. To keep us together. To work for us all. To keep us in synch.
We are a tool building animal. We invented money. And we did it pretty recently too. We've used shiny rocks. Don't believe me? You are aware that gold is a rock, aren't you? Shiny rocks. Some people argued that we used gold because of its relative scarcity thereby making it a valuable commodity on an international market. Sure,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots, whatever. I think it's because there is something in the human animal that still likes shiny rocks. We even wear it as decoration!
But not too long ago we changed over from shiny rocks and now we use fabric. It even sounds weird but it's true. We use fabric. Paper money is made from paper made of rags. Cotton or linen fabric is beaten to create cotton or linen fibers. You have probably heard of "rag paper" or "fine linen writing paper." Our money is made of fabric.
But we call it Paper and our paper is valuable because we all agree that it is valuable! I will give it to you another way: what happens tomorrow if we find out that there has suddenly been a massive wave of counterfeit currency into the economy thereby completely destabilizing the entire global economy and the world governments all agree that the international currency for the sale and exchange of goods would be diamonds? How rich are you then? Do you agree or disagree with this new system of exchange?
So, paper money is valuable because we all agree it is valuable. No more shiny rocks, just paper.
We're even moving away from that. Yes, now we are moving towards electron storage of our valuable paper. And we have plastic to use it. We don't even really need the paper (unless we want to do something untraceable!), now we can use our little plastic cards to get stuff.
So work hard in somewhere surrounded by idiots so you can get as many of those stored electrons on your little plastic card. Some of them can even have your face printed on it! You have been given the ultimate tool to help separate you from your stored electrons,we are able to quickly gain rapport. I have one too. I almost wish we went back to shiny rocks. They were prettier. And it took longer to spend them.
We are a tool building animal. Some of them are great tools. They keep us together. They keep us in synch. They give us a way to be purposely rude by being late for appointments. Are you aware that time is so important to the United States government that we have the Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology, and its military counterpart, the U. S. Naval Observatory working together to make sure we keep accurate time? It keeps us beating to a similar heartbeat. We built an amazing tool.
But they have also found a way to give us too much convenience with what we earn. Think about that the next time you wave your plastic card through some gizmo. Remember, just because you have a tool doesn't mean you need to use it.

How to Get Away From It All Without Going Anywhere
So many people when they have returned from taking a trip say,Other forms of religious meditation include, "I need a vacation from my vacation." This usually occurs if there is a lot of travel involved in the holiday or if people have over-scheduled their activities to take advantage of the wealth of tourist attractions at their destination. So, apart from reinstating your healthy eating and sleeping habits, how do you get some rest,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots, relaxation and enjoyment when the œ"vacation" is over or too far into the future?
Here are five great tips to on how to get away from it all without going anywhere:
Mini-spa experience
Just because it isn't summer doesn't mean that you can't pamper yourself. Whether you make an appointment for a free makeover, schedule a massage or manicure, or indulge in some cosmetic goodie or extra, it's a great way to carve out some time for you. Even taking a shower or bath by the light and fragrance of aromatherapy candles can be a nice break from the ordinary.
Read
Remember all those books and magazines you lay aside thinking you'll have plenty of time to read them when you go on vacation? Well, why not now? The cooler seasons bring rainy, cloudy days that many booklovers (me included) proclaim are ideal reading weather. Just make sure that you are reading what you want to, not what somebody else said "you should" read, as this is a surefire trigger for procrastination.
Bring the exotic into your everyday experience
Part of what we like about going away for vacation is being able to experience things out of our ordinary, day-to-day experience. So, who's to say that has be the exclusive domain of a formal "vacation"? Treat yourself and your family to a special breakfast on the porch with the fine china you only use once in a blue moon. Go to a restaurant that features cuisine you've never tried. Visit a store that specializes in international wares and pick up a little something from a foreign locale to add a little bit of mystique to your normal decor.
Try something new
More often these days, people incorporate learning experiences into their vacation experiences. So,such as back pain or some form of illness., why not sign up for a class or workshop? You can tackle personal development, acquire a new skill, learn some history or take up a new hobby. Any way you choose to do it, opening doors to new experiences can also lead to a rejuvenation of the spirit.
Be a tourist at home
Unless you have played tour guide to an out-of-town relative or friend, you may not have visited tourist destinations or historical sites in your own city or region. Get a visitor's guide from your city and hit the town. Viewing local attractions alongside tourists can be an eye-opener and offer you a fresh perspective on the place you call home. Additionally, imagine your navel sinking in toward your spine., If you don't already, make plans to attend events at your local theater, symphony or museum. Too many of us will do these things when we are "out of town" and don't take advantage of the wonderful arts communities and tourist attractions in our own communities.
So, if you feel the need to get away from it all, remember that you don't necessarily need to leave home. Sometimes a great vacation is right in front of you!

"I'm happy

There Is No Try
Luke stands before Yoda in the movie, The Empire Strikes Back.
Luke's face is alight. He's astounded that Yoda was able to lift the spaceship from the swamp, when Luke could barely move it.
"I don't believe it," he says in amazement!
"That," says Yoda, "is the reason you fail."
Simple words. Prophetic too,Catholic Voters Need to Rethink Morality. Because you run into them each day. The only reason you fail is because you don't believe 100% in what you do. If you did, your strategy would be completely different from the one you have now, nobody knows if a relationships will work until it's entered.
Imagine this scenario. Imagine wanting to drive a car. Then imagine getting in a car and just driving. No lessons,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots. Just switch on the ignition and go. Or even worse, you start, stop, start, stop and then decide car driving is way too tough.
You know better.
Even before you drive a car, you know you can do it. You know it because you see others drive cars each day. You see them drive and then you believe you too can drive. And so you take the steps. You educate yourself through the lessons. You get yourself a licence. And then you drive.
Starting up a business requires no such diligence. The reason why it's start, stop, start, stop is because you don't see everyone succeed. Some do. And some don't.
And slowly your belief crumbles. You wish you could make those millions but you think it's for others. You even justify it in your brain after a while.
"I'm happy," you say. "I could do without being rich," you say,in reality.
That's why you fail. So said Yoda.
Truer words were never spoken.

Can Fear of Public Speaking Actually Make You a Better Speaker?
Few elements of modern life can be so detrimental for one's ability for self-improvement and success than "Fear of Public Speaking." Surveys indicate, however, that this is the is the number one source of apprehension in the United States,Epictetus. The first survey to point this out appeared in the October 7 1973 issue of the Sunday Times of London,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots. The findings have been verified by countless other surveys and studies in subsequent years, the man without courage draws to himself all the qualities of a weak man.
The Times survey found that 41% of the 3000 respondents listed "fear of public speaking" as their number one fear, while 19% listed "death."
For the businessperson, either in a small company or a large corporation, the ability to speak coherently and persuasively is a vital skill, but this "fear of speaking" holds many otherwise competent people back.
This can be a disaster for the sales person, but it need not be so. Speaking skills are easy to acquire once the fear is controlled. Note that i said "controlled," not overcome.
In the hundreds of executive workshops I have conducted, I have found a high percentage of intelligent people apprehensive at the prospect of giving a presentation.
Is this fear unique to modern life? Probably not. Pericles, the great orator and statesman of ancient Greece, observed about 2500 years ago that
" Those who can think, but cannot express
what they think, place themselves at the
level of those who cannot think."
One of the fundamental reasons smart people cannot "express what they think" is the paralyzing fear of speaking in public.
If you suffer from that anxiety, rest assured you are in the main stream of the American public. In this article, I'll provide advice on how to make this nervousness work to your advantage so that you actually become a better public speaker because of your fear.
DON'T KILL THE BUTTERFLIES
Among the physical manifestations of nervousness can be a queasiness frequently labeled "butterflies in the stomach." Someone in the field of speech training once said you didn't want to kill the butterflies; instead, get them flying in formation.
I certainly agree with the basic premise of controlling, not eliminating, nervousness. I find it disappointing when colleagues and competitors in the field of presentation skills training promise that if you buy their book or attend their workshop, you will never again fear speaking in public.
That is absolute rubbish. It causes people to make overcoming "Fear of speaking" their main objective. Their objective should be to frame and deliver their message in such a way that they persuade their audience to adopt the point of view they are advocating.
I have seen many nervous speakers do an excellent job because they believed in their message, and I have seen speakers so calm it seemed rigor mortis had set in. Their calmness made them appear indifferent, and they bombed.
You want to be somewhat nervous. It releases the adrenaline that gets you "pumped," that shows passion and enthusiasm. It is the same as the pre-game jitters of athletes which allows them to convert nervousness to energy.
Presenters must make the same conversion into that positive energy which demonstrates the presenter's belief in his or her message.
A TRIO OF FEARS AND THEIR ANTIDOTES
1. FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN
As human beings, we tend to be more afraid of what we don't know,as if in a hovering helicopter. From here. For presenters, the audience is the great unknown. You will wonder: "What do they expect of me? Do they know much more about the subject than I do, etc.?" You will have the tendency to magnify the knowledge of the audience at the expense of your own knowledge.
ANTIDOTE:
Convert unknown to known. The more information you gather on the audience and the more intensive your practice session, the more the unknown will be converted to known.
Guard against procrastination, however, because we tend to accomplish what is in our comfort zone, and put off more difficult tasks, such as systematic audience intelligence collection and rigorous practice. Bite the bullet, and you will have those fears of the unknown dramatically reduced.
2. FEAR OF FORGETTING.
When told they will have to make a presentation, most people are consumed by the fear their mind will go blank, and they will stand in front of the audience without the slightest idea of what they are to say.
They play it safe, write out their presentation, and read it verbatim to the audience. This guarantees failure People in an audience want to listen to a speaker who is connecting with them, and is looking at them, not at a script.
ANTIDOTE:
If you have practiced diligently, even a temporary "power outage" of your brain can be handled.
The solution I have always used is what I call the two-card tango. Place a startling statistic or interesting fact that you have had to delete for reasons of time on a 3x5 card.
On the second card, place a bullet outline of the main points of your presentation. If convenient, place these cards in your pocket or on the lectern.
When the "My mind has gone blank" syndrome sets in, merely take both cards and say to the audience "Let me digress for a moment and share with you...." then relate the information on the first card. If you have prepared well, your mind will kick back in, and you can continue where you left off.
If it does not, slide the second card to the front, and look at the bullet points. Select one point and continue the presentation. Your audience will be none the wiser.
Although I always advocate honesty with your audience, I do not recommend that you say "I forgot what I was going to say." You may get temporary sympathy, but audience members will wonder why they are sitting there if the issue is not important enough for the speaker to remember what he or she was saying.
3. FEAR OF UNANTICIPATED QUESTIONS.
Many people are not worried about making a presentation, because they are "on their turf." These same people, however, are terrified at the prospect of answering questions, believing they will be embarrassed by not being able to answer questions.
ANTIDOTE:
Seek to anticipate the questions. If you have acquired accurate "intelligence" on the audience's needs, concerns and problems, then you should be able to preempt certain questions in your presentation, anticipate others, and develop succinct answers to others.
No one expects you to be able to answer every question, but they do expect you to be honest. Don't give a false answer to avoid the embarrassment of saying: "I don't know." That honest phrase, followed by the words "but I'll get that information for you," must be in every presenter's vocabulary.
When you make the commitment to get the information, remember that you have a moral obligation to do just that for the questioner and perhaps the entire audience.
Apply these antidotes, and you'll find that the "fear of speaking" will be the catalyst to make you a better speaker.

thus if Alex succeeds in selling them all

Will You Dare to Be Different?
There is a secondary school not far from our home, and I often see the students either walking to school or waiting at the bus stop. Over 1500 students attend this school, and yet when I see them there is a similarity that identifies them as belonging to that school. After some thought I realized that it is their appearance that is similar. Although there is no school uniform, it is their choice of clothes that almost creates a uniform in itself. The colours of choice tend to be limited to three colours none of which stand out or appear distinct,But he said. Almost all students carry a backpack. It is rare to see a student who stands out by wearing brighter colours or a different style of clothes,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots, one cookie.
This is a well known example of the power of peer pressure, such an influential force in the lives of children growing up. Ironically the teen age years are the period of time when
children are trying to find out who they are, how their identity is unique from family members and role models of their previous childhood years. The ridicule and even persecution of fellow students at school causes all but the secure and bold of heart to conform or be ostracized at school.
There are many forms of conformity out in the big wide world; subtle expectations and pressures that create environments and communities which conform to acceptable patterns of appearance and behaviour.
However success and notoriety come to those who stand out from the rest by their creativity, uniqueness and ability to stand out from the crowd.
A recent example of this is twenty one year old Alex Twe from England. In August this year Alex was about to start university. Being only too aware of the fact that many students end up finishing their education with huge debts to repay, he decided to try and generate sufficient funds to cover his expenses whilst studying using the power of the Internet. He created The Million Dollar Home Page'. The basic concept was that website owners could buy advertising space on the home page of the site at a cost of $1 per pixel. The smallest advertising block you can purchase is 10x10 pixels, hence a cost of $100. There are a million pixels available for purchase, thus if Alex succeeds in selling them all, he will have raised a cool $1million!
On the face of it, this is a crazy idea - why would anyone want to pay to put a tiny graphic on a page of thousands of other tiny graphics on the off-chance that someone might click on it,or 2 pounds each week? I'm sure if he had taken advice from Internet experts he would have been strongly advised not to bother even to attempt such a ludicrous notion as would not have a hope of succeeding.
Alex launched the site at the end of August and right away started to try and generate press interest. This approach worked superbly and he has had International press coverage over the past couple of months which has helped to spread the word about his site in the viral manner that is only possible via the Internet. Result? After a very short time Alex had sold over half a million pixels - that means he has generated over $500,000 in income in just 2 months! At this rate he will achieve his target of selling a million pixels by the end of the year and even if he doesn't sell another pixel, he has still done superbly well. To read the blog of Alex's adventure and see the site visit his website This week he is visiting the U.S.A. on a media tour. Within weeks of this site being launched and seeing success, there were over 400 copycats trying to make a quick fortune by copying a unique idea.
What does it take to be different, to stand out from the crowd, become influential and experience success? What qualities make innovative leaders rather than followers?
Here are some of my thoughts:
Courage to follow your heart and intuition
Security and self confidence to stand by what you believe
Not concerned to gain the approval of others
Creativity
Willingness to be the first and take a risk
Determination to follow through on your ideas
What do you think?

5. Success

What Makes People Happy,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots? 5 Important Factors That Bring Happiness by Michael Lee
Different people have different opinions on what makes people happy. Some would say it's getting a raise. Others would say it's having a wonderful and meaningful life. There have even been quite a few who have more specific answers pertaining to their personal life.
All of these answers hit home, of course, and she compensated and smiled. Now. While everyone has their own opinion, some universal things like the ones below might be considered as what makes people happy.
1. Family and friends
One of the things that make people happy is the company of family and friends. The emotional support these people give you is priceless.
You probably don't enjoy being smothered by your mother or your father, but attending family reunions or getting together for a barbecue once in a while pumps up your happiness level. Having people around you that you love, trust and care for makes you feel that you're not alone.
2. Giving back
Helping others, whether in small or big ways, uplifts a person's spirit like nothing else. Doing something for nothing might be completely opposite of what you have been taught, but acts of generosity always leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling.
Sharing your wealth or time with others puts you in the position to receive the same positive energy back from others. Besides, making a difference in somebody else's life has a way of coming back to you.
3. Meaningful work
A job with a corresponding high salary isn't always what makes people happy. In fact, these jobs often make people miserable (unless your heart is in what you do). Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to pursue their dream job. And not everyone finds meaning in their work.
You could try to compensate for this by volunteering at hospitals or environmental causes in your spare time. By finding meaning in what you do, you will feel fulfilled and have a sense of purpose,A big problem for most people.
4,premature ejaculation. Freedom
It's impossible to become truly happy when you don't have even a small ounce of freedom in your life. Whether it's being able to express yourself creatively or being able to make a choice for yourself, personal freedom is important. Suppressing yourself only brings forth a lot of negative emotions and discontent.
5. Success
Who doesn't want to succeed? People who have achieved personal or professional success in their life are more inclined to pursue other goals and try new experiences. They become more content with the direction their life is taking and are generally happier in the long run.
These are just some of what makes people happy. Not everything is about materialism. There's happiness to be found in even the simplest, intangible things.

is not complete forgiveness.

Understanding Forgiveness by James C. Tanner
As a writer, on occasion I tip toe into a subject while writing an article, but never fully embrace the content of that secondary subject. Recently, I wrote an article "Living With, And Understanding Grief" (), wherein I spoke to the stages of grief. One stage mentioned, was the stage of anger. No one can speak to the subject of "Anger" without also being prepared to address the subject of "Forgiveness".
It doesn't matter what religion one belongs to be it Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, or for that matter even Atheism, all make reference to the importance of forgiveness. Even when you step outside the realm of religion to the worlds of holistic healing, psychotherapy, and modern day medicine, forgiveness is recognized to have a key role in our ability to live healthy lives. The challenge each religion or belief system has, is arriving at a similar definition of "forgiveness" with each religion or secular field having their own twist on the subject. Here in this crowded pool of opinion, I will strip to my skivvies, figuratively speaking, dive in and attempt to address this issue head on.
First, let's eliminate what forgiveness is not. While certainly it can occur as a result of, forgiveness is not reconciliation, in fact many if not most relationships which experience a significant wounding are never restored fully to their original state. Forgiveness is not forgetting. Forgiveness does not mean an offender is released from the consequences of his or her actions. Forgiveness is not grace, as scripturally defined. Forgiveness is not mercy.
Forgiveness is a decision. It's the mental, emotional, and/or spiritual process of ceasing to feel resentment, or anger against someone or something else for a perceived wrong committed. Forgiveness is a step taken for the mental, spiritual, and physiological well-being of the offended, not the offender. The perpetrator you do not forgive ends up owning you emotionally.
Alexander Pope once said, "To err is human, to forgive is divine". Throughout time Alexander Pope's comment has been used in jest by mankind to justify and excuse our tendency to offend, and yet we often fail to see in this same quote, the significance of the second part. Sometimes forgiveness is divine, for it takes the divine strength of God in a person to walk through the process. A person cannot properly forgive until they have experienced the full ramifications and walked through the full pain caused by their offender. From a psychological viewpoint, premature forgiveness (forgiveness that is issued before the total pain is experienced) is not complete forgiveness.
Anyone who has ever been victimized, and that would include victims of crime, terminally ill patients, war survivors, survivors of life changing accidents, etc., must decide at some point whether or not they will choose to forgive the source of their offence. By choosing to forgive, they choose to release the anger and bitterness they harbor towards their perpetrator.
Often I am faced with the comment, "I could never forgive (so and so) for what they did to me, it was so horrific,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots!" Yes you can forgive them. Forgiveness is a decision and a process, that may take time. You may have to remind yourself of your decision to forgive whenever your perpetrator comes to mind afterwards.
Lets look at some steps to forgiveness. First, honestly confront and embrace your emotional pain. Secondly, recognize that holding onto your anger and resentment towards your perpetrator will only cause you greater harm in the long run. Third, realize that ultimately love is what you want for yourself from yourself. Fourth, remember we forgive the perpetrator, not the act of offence. Fifth, accept responsibility for your own emotions and the healing of your feelings, and for many more it is the love and nutrition you provide for your family each day.. Sixth, if you had a part in the offence, own up and accept responsibility for your part, without placing blame. Seventh, see this as a positive growth opportunity. Eight, start finding positive non-destructive ways to release the emotions the offence has caused you (run, walk, work-out,The book she was reading, journal, therapy, etc.). Ninth, decide to forgive your perpetrator. Tenth, be willing to start thinking of your perpetrator from a different, focus and attention to, more positive perspective.
While anyone or any event can be forgiven, there are times when expressing your forgiveness directly to your perpetrator should be delayed. You should delay your outward expression of forgiveness until you are in control of your emotions; until you have established a safe place and safe people to be with you when you extend your expression of forgiveness; and are able to look upon your offender from a position of pity or sorrow and not revenge or hatred.
Finally, it's important to state here, forgiveness does not mean your offender is released from consequences of his or her actions. If a legal process is required to compensate you for damages, or reinforce your boundaries with your perpetrator, then it's important to realize forgiving your perpetrator does not mean you have to give up this process of recovery or self-protection. Forgiveness means you are giving up the motivation of revenge.

Finding Happiness by Amy Twain

Finding Happiness by Amy Twain
How can we define the word "happiness", really? Each one of us has their own definition in finding it. Whether you're rich or poor and powerful or powerless, you want to be happy. Everybody wants to be happy, that's for sure, their people,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots. Some of the most common ways that people do to find it is through their finances, their relationships, their jobs as well as their health.
Yeah, there is no question about these things. But until when will that happiness last? With all of these, it will only last for a short period of time. And then, you're going to seek for another thing that makes you fulfilled. So, how can we find a true meaning of it? It seems that everyone is looking for it but doesn't really know what it is,I encourage you to reconsider but this time based on information.
So, how about you? Do you know what true happiness is? Knowing happiness must start within. We should know what it is for us. After all, if you are looking for it, it would help you with what exactly you're looking for. Take some time and identify what it feels, looks and tastes like to you.
To be happy is like you're traveling to a place where you haven't visited yet. You don't know where to go. So you need a map to guide you. You need to create your own map or plan on how you're going to define it. It is useless to continue without any direction. You couldn't achieve what you want. The truth is, we must find our happiness somewhere else. And that somewhere else is within.
Sometimes we ask other people what it means to them. You always hear this phrase " I'll be happy when"... When I get a good job, I'll be happy.
I'll be happy when I meet someone I love. These kind of feelings are based only on our external circumstances. If you base it on external circumstances, you'll continuously fail to find it. There will always be another job, another partner and so on,make them feel special. We strive very hard to find the shining moment in our life.
Sometimes we are doing our very best to have it, but how come we can't have it? We can't feel it in one click. Not all that we want can appear at once. We are still coping for some skill and techniques to achieve that one. We should know how to wait.
Take some vitamin S- smile. As you wake up early in the morning share that smile to everybody. Having a smiling face is a kind of blessing. In a simple way you share it to other people. This kind of magic can take away some of your depression as well as other people's.
You should always think of wonderful experiences that happened in your life. Eventually, you would realize what made you feel better, how you let go of some pain and how to make more positive experiences in your life. If you want to be happy, start doing things that you love in life.
And make sure that you are doing it with passion. You should know exactly what you're passionate about and why. And then you should live according to that passion. As you start to work on things that you are passionate about, you will find the true happiness in life.

fortunately an alternative medicine doctor

Diet, Anxiety and Depression by Margaret Paul, Ph.D.
Marianne consulted with me because of anxiety and depression. She had tried various forms of medication but was not reacting well to any of the drugs. She was exhausted from lack of sleep, and from the intense anxiety that kept waking her up. While there were challenges in her life, like in everyone's life, none were extreme enough to have this effect on her. She spent her days depressed and her nights awake and anxious.
Marianne had done years of inner work and fully understood that her thoughts create her feelings. She was vigilant about thinking thoughts that were positive, so she could not understand why she was having such a hard time. When she awoke at night in a panic, she could not seem to gain control of her thoughts. She would ruminate over and over about the various challenges in her life. She was very discouraged that she had so much therapy and had done so much inner healing work, and still felt so awful,or he could plunge into the dark unknown to meet death on his own terms. He had one ice screw left. Sometimes she felt like she was going crazy because she felt so out of control over her thoughts and feelings.
Marianne had a deep spiritual connection,5854 Ugg Classic Mini Chestnut Boots. She did not feel alone in her life, knowing that her spiritual guidance was always with her and always guiding her, which made her anxiety and depression all the more perplexing and upsetting to her.
"I just don't get what is happening here. I take really great care of myself. I attend to my own feelings, when in reality the reason for not doing it is because they don't "feel" like it., I eat well and exercise, and I have great friends and a wonderful relationship. My kids are doing well and I love my work. Why am I having such a hard time?"
Fortunately for Marianne, I had gone through the same experience. I discovered the source of my problem through research on the Internet,Famous Inspirational Quote # 3, which proved much more accurate than what my doctor was telling me. It appeared that Marianne was suffering from low blood sugar - Hypoglycemia.
Marianne would fall asleep just fine, but would awake in a panic 4-6 hours after felling asleep and then couldn't go back to sleep. When a person's blood sugar goes too low, the adrenal glands take over and shoot epinephrine, also called adrenaline, into the system to raise the blood sugar, which causes anxiety or even panic.
I suggested that Marianne ask her doctor to give her a glucose tolerance test, and it turned out that she did have hypoglycemia. Her doctor told her to go off all sugar and refined products, such as white bread. Her doctor advised that she eat 6 small meals that are balanced between protein, complex carbohydrates, and fats, and to be sure to eat just before going to sleep. Her doctor, fortunately an alternative medicine doctor, also advised her to take a chromium supplement just before sleep.
Within days of going on this food plan, Marianne started sleeping through the night. When she did wake up, she was not anxious and was able to go back to sleep. She no longer felt depressed. Then one night she went back to not sleeping and having the anxiety.
"Marianne, what did you do the day that you couldn't sleep?"
"I joined a gym and did a hard workout. I read that exercise is good for hypoglycemia."
I asked Marianne to do a little more research on this and she discovered that intense exercise greatly lowers the blood sugar - that she has to eat during exercising. After doing this, she had no more sleepless nights.
It is important to know that anxiety and depression can have physical, emotional, and spiritual causes. The emotional/spiritual causes of anxiety and depression are generally related to what we tell ourselves and how we treat ourselves. Self-abandonment through judging ourselves, ignoring our feelings, turning to addictions instead of to Spirit, and making others responsible for our feelings cause anxiety and depression. Diet, illness, and hypoglycemia can also cause anxiety and depression.
If you are willing to take responsibility for yourself and learn how to lovingly treat yourself physically, emotionally, and spiritually, you can heal your anxiety and depression.
